2x2 Art Fair for Outsider Art 2019 (DE)
3 October - 6. October 2019
Kunsthaus Kannen, Münster, Germany
In 2019 the 2x2 Forum for Outsider Art, an art fair of international caliber, is taking place for the sixth time. Having arisen from the 2009 EU-subsidized Projekt KULTUR, every two years the forum invites artists, studios, galleries, universities and projects from contexts of art, social affairs and psychiatry to engage in dialogue and exchange of ideas concerning Outsider Art. We hope to extend existing networks of creators, mediators and collectors and to further deepen the discussion on art and marginality. This year´s forum will feature regional exhibitors as well as particpants from our European neighbors.

E-QUALITY - EOA Conference 2019 (SE)
24. May -26. May 2019
Hosted by INUTI, at INUTI´s Studio in Stockholm and at Aguélimuseet in Sala, Sweden
Welcome to our EOA conference, E-Quality, and the opportunity to network with other artists and professionals from the Outsider Art field in Stockholm, Sweden. The conference is taking place 24th - 26th May 2019 and will address questions around quality and equality. It will explore who decides what is good art and for what reasons and what is meant by ‘quality’ in outsider art. The conference will also focus on artists' rights and the importance and challenge of building equality in the art world and how can we support inclusion. According to Inuti, the prerequisite for this is to create equal opportunities for all artists making our culture richer for all. We hope our conference E-Quality can be a tool for important discussions about quality in Outsider Art and equality in the wider art world.
Open Call
Inuti is looking forward to proposals for presentations on the theme of E-Quality. Presentations can take any form, from a lecture or performance to an exhibition. If you have a proposal please contact the EOA conference team at Inuti

Paul Goesch - An Artist Between Avant-Garde and Institution
In addition to being a recognized professional expressionist artist with psychiatric experience, Paul Goesch also occupies an outstanding position in the Prinzhorn Collection. Furthermore, his life and his art are a particularly impressive example of the contact and relationship between art and mental illness in modernity - a field of research that has not only been the focus of research at the Prinzhorn Collection since the opening of the museum, but that has also become an important field of interest in German, French and Italian media and art history, since the turn of the century. The conference with speakers from Germany and France examines both Paul Goesch's connections to the avant-garde and cultural events of his time, as well as his stay in psychiatric institutions.
Place: Sammlung Prinzhorn, Vossstrasse 2, Heidelberg, Germany
Dates: Conference 13 – 14 January 2017

CURATING OUTSIDER ART
International Conference & Annual General Assembly
May 15-16, 2014 - Halle Saint Pierre, Paris
The board of EOA is pleased to announce this year's conference and general assembly at Halle Saint Pierre.
About the conference:
More and more institutions for contemporary art integrate art works by outsider artists in exhibitions or permanent collections today. As a lot of these artists are not thinking in terms of the art scene or art market they are unfamiliar with ways of presentation and exhibiting their works. Professional art curators, on the other hand, are often unfamiliar with the context of and special ideas behind outsider art and tend to press it into well-known presentation formats, cutting off important dimensions of the works. The conference "Curating Outsider Art" wants to look for ways to mediate between artists and curators in this field. Speakers include: Martine Lusardy, Pierre Muylle, Thomas Röske, Barbara Safarova.
See full programme (updated April 22, 2014) and information on registration >>>

The conference is produced by The Prinzhorn Collection & European Outsider Art Association. Director of the conference: Thomas Röske, the Prinzhorn Collection.
