Giving a platform to outsider artist by:

1: Providing a supported studio with artistically skilled staff where outsider artists can develop their art, skills, meet other artists and the public, broaden their horizons as much is possible within their limitations.

2: A gallery of high quality in one of Amsterdam´s cultural hotspots where the work of (inter)national outsider artists is shown to the public.

3: Make possible a bigger audience by leasing art to organisations and private persons.

4: Autonomy; the artists receive a percentage of the rented and sold art.

5: Cooperate as much as possible with other organisations and persons in and outside thefield to keep and improve quality

In 2016 the Outsider Art Gallery was founded by three cooperating partners: Cordaan Health and Welfare Organisation, Museum the Hermitage Amsterdam and Museum of the Mind 'het Dolhuys' in Haarlem.
